Best friends come in different shapes, sizes, and colors while filling our lives with enormous amounts of happiness. For a lot of us these friends are hairy, slobbery, and have four legs! Just like any of our friends, we would do everything we can to help them during a difficult time. One of the hardest times for our dogs is when fleas are involved. These fleas are dangerous, unhealthy, and bothersome for our friends. We want to help them without forcing them to be around strong, expensive pesticides. Ingredients

All of the remedies below are made from natural ingredients. You will see that they are made from essentials oils creating an all-natural pesticide. These will either deter the pests or kill them due to the compounds in the natural chemicals. Most of these are found in the commercial Fleatreatmentcenter and tick products.

Oral Remedy

Make a drink that will keep those fleas away, you can buy the best dog flea treatment here. This should be used alongside other remedies. You will water and one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar (distilled vinegar will work as well). For forty pound dogs, get one quart of water and with one teaspoon of vinegar. Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar is highly recommended due to the improvements for dog’s skins inside and out. As the dog drink this, the fleas will be highly deterred from them.

Natural Flea Collar

A flea collar is a great way to get rid of those pesky fleas while avoiding lotions and powder. For this you will need a bandana or dog collar, an eyedropper, 2 tablespoons of water, and 4 drops of cedar oil (lavender will work as well). Mix the water with the oil and fill the eyes dropper. Apply 8 drops of the mixture on the collar or bandana. Rub the dies together and then place around your dog’s neck. Make sure to do this weekly.

Time to Comb

Why not create a flea comb from lemons which contains limonene. Limonene is a chemical that repels as well as kills fleas but is harmless for dogs. Ingredients are one pot of water, one freshly sliced lemon, and one comb. You could also use a brush or sponge in the absence of a comb. Add sliced lemons to a boiling pot of water. Once the lemons have been added, cover the pot and let it sit overnight. The next day you are able to dip your comb into the liquid and run through their hair. Sponges are also great for short haired dogs.

Spray It Down

Let’s not forget a nice, natural flea spray that rids your dogs of fleas while giving them a beautiful shining coat. You will need 4 drops of cedar or lavender oil, a spray bottle, one quart of water, and 1 cup of apple cider vinegar. Mix the water, oil, and vinegar together then add to the spray bottle. Mist your dogs but not in their eyes, noses, or ears. Don’t forget their hot spots – the neck, behind the chin, behind the ears, and upper back.

All of these mixtures can be used on your furniture and carpets with the same effect. You will get rid of those fleas while providing a safe, healthy, and hazard free environment. Best of all, these are items you probably already have laying around the house.
