April 1 – 30 – Spring into Reading Challenge – Nutley Public Library challenges patrons to read for at least 600 minutes (20 minutes / day) in April! Topy readers of each age group will win a gift card to a local business and be honored with a bookplate in the library collection! For babies to adults. Register on nutleypubliclibrary.beanstack.org. Saturdays April 3, 17 and 24 at 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. – Take and do on Saturdays. Pick a craft project you can do at home! While stocks last. One craft kit per child. For all ages. Monday April 5 at 3 p.m. – Campsite 101 with the Essex County Environmental Center. Learn what you need to pack to make camping easy in a virtual workshop! Monday April 5 at 7 p.m. – Virtual DISH! The Monday night cookbook club. Members will choose, prepare at home and present a DISH! We will then meet online to discuss each other’s recipes, our cooking techniques, and share stories and culture. Tuesday April 6 at 7 p.m. – The Garden State Gems of the Garden. Master gardener Mary Jo Sichak will guide us through a virtual tour (Zoom) of selected and unmissable gardens and arboretums in New Jersey. Highlights of each garden and the best times to visit will be included. Prior online registration is required. This program is sponsored by the Friends of Nutley Public Library.

Wednesdays, April 7, 14, 21 and 28 at 3:30 p.m. – Reading Buddies – Readers choose a book and team up with a teenage buddy to practice their reading and public speaking skills. For classes K-5. Register on servicesdesjeunes.nutleypubliclibrary.org to receive the Zoom program link and password.

Friday April 9 at 10:30 a.m. – Have fun with Miss Jolie! Author Miss Jolie takes a virtual tour and shares her book “In search of luck”. Saturday April 10 at 2:00 p.m. – The circus that inspired a city – with Nutley museum director John Simko. Celebrate National Library Week with an Online Zoom presentation from Nutley Museum Director John Simko. John will talk about the 1894 Nutley Amateur Circus. Tuesday April 13 at 7 p.m. – Jewelry Making Club: Craft a stretch bead bracelet. In this virtual program (Zoom) you will learn some basics of jewelry making and design, then with virtual guidance you will create your own jewelry. All supplies are included and can be picked up from April 1. Prior online registration is required and limited to the first 25 Nutley adults.

Thursday April 15 at 7 p.m. – Author Emilya Naymark will host a virtual meeting and author conference to support the Friends of the Nutley Public Library. She will talk about her first and much-acclaimed book “Hide in Place”, a thriller thriller set three years after an undercover New York cop fled the city after its cover was blown in a crime scene. racketeering and finds the limits of his skills tested by the disappearance of his son.
